PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the fourth NYCFL
Tournament of the
2017 - 2018
school year.
The contest will be held on
Saturday, October 28, 2017
at
Xavier High School
on
30 West 16th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues (closer
to Sixth)
All
monies raised from this tournament will help fund the new Sr. M. Raimonde Scholarship.
Therefore:
1. There will not be any
trophies or mugs given at this tournament – All winning competitors and teams
will receive certificates.
(please let competitors know about this beforehand)

Student Congress – Bill Must Be Included in Bill Packet
(Bills Submitted by 10/17 will be included in Bill packet
posted on 10/19)

8:30 - 9:00
on Saturday morning at Xavier.
DEADLINE:
The Pre-Registration Deadline is
Wednesday, October 25th
at 9:00PM
Entries not received by this date CANNOT be accepted!!!
PRE-REGISTRATION:
Registration may be
entered on TABROOM.com. Please select Sr. Raimonde Service Tournament under the NYCFL
league.
Please email me if you are sending
any observer judges.
LUNCH:
Xavier will provide
lunch for all judges. Students should bring lunch with them, or be prepared to
go out to one of the local delis.
DROPS/ADDS:
All drop should be made
on TABROOM.com
Remember:
1. Drops after the
registration deadline of 9 PM on WEDNESDAY do not alter your judging quota.
2. Registration fees for
drops on the morning of the contest must still be paid.
3. There are NO ADDS after
the pre-registration deadline has passed.
FEES:
$5.00 per speaker from
a member school.
(NOTE: Each Duo and
PF Team counts as TWO speakers for fee calculations).

JUDGING REQUIREMENTS:
Speech: ONE qualified judge
for every FIVE entries or fraction thereof.
A judge is qualified to judge at this tournament under
NYCFL rules
If he or she is a college freshman or older;
AND
is the coach of a program, OR has judged
before, OR participated in forensics as a student.
Judges who are not
qualified under these rules must attend one contest as an observer judge, and
be registered with the Executive Committee as such. Observer judges do not
count toward the quota of judges you must provide. Observer judges must arrive
at the tournament with a copy of the League’s judging handbook and should have
read it before hand.

Congress: ONE qualified judge
regardless of the number of students entered.
AWARDS:
Certificates to 8 finalists
in each event. Seven team certificates based on each school’s top 2 (Extemp, OO, Congress), and top 2 (OI, Duo), and top 2 (DP,
Dec).
Debate certificates and
levels of competition will depend on registration.
EXTEMP TOPICS:
Please see www.nycfl.org for assignments.
DROPS/ADDS:

drop students will remain open until 8:30 on Saturday morning.
